Before, I was not aware that batteries cause that much harm to our environment. They can leak and contaminate soil and groundwater. I do use a lot of batteries and most are not rechargeable, so I am going to start to use all rechargeable batteries. This can save me money because each battery can be charged charged thousands of times so I figured that is at least a couple of years of use instead of buying new batteries every week. There are a lot of hazardous wastes found in batteries so please, use alternative sources of power.
